Wow...since yesterday I've received a flood of well-wishes both here in the comments and by email and phone at home. I just wanted to say "Thank you" to all of you for that kindness and support. I'm grateful for the community!
Jen came home early yesterday and we went out to the Dockside for an early dinner/late lunch. Then we came home and opened the bubbly. This morning, we're breakfasting with the Esteemable Mr. Lake and celebrating some more.
I'm still in head-spinning mode but it's surely a fine feeling. I'm also now planning (suddenly) a trip to World Fantasy. I'll be booking my travel today or tomorrow. I have folks to meet and celebrating to do!
Meanwhile, I'm going to be stepping up the pace on Canticle. I've been working at it in a pretty leisurely way considering how quickly the first book came together.
Thank you all again for your congratulations, well-wishes, kind words and continued support of my writing career! I'm grateful for it.

I haven't seen you since last World Fantasy! I'm going to tackle you and give you a giant hug, and then insist on at least getting to hang out at the bar with you, if I can't snag a meal. And you can see Chris again too.
Alas, you will never get your chance to marry at us at an SF con now though... =)
